Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Honeywell forge

That’s it… it’s going full Bangalore !
After the inability to deliver any of the DA dreams it has become clear it must be under full control of one team. Lists of people that honeywell will force to move to BLR are being drafted. It encompasses bombastic Fellows, incompetent Directors, and looser engineers.

I don’t think the goal is redeploy… seems just bring more and more.
Ppl assume if there is 100 H1B that they will be moved at some point. Most don’t, and actually after a couple of years there are 200. They favor bringing more and more and help each other to have more of their area.
Maybe time to make us a protected species ??

If Forge is just a ploy to stack Atlanta with H1B visa holders, I assume Honeywell's plan is to redeploy those visa holders elsewhere at some point.

If that's the case, that's bordering on illegal. It's referred to as "benching," i.e. they're being shady on the H1B applications in order to build a "bench" of foreign talent in Atlanta.

More and more talks about sending fellows and top architects to India for a while to be tested over there.
This is starting to look like indirect abuse by MP.

It doesn’t make any money. It’s a mechanism to get H1B visa holder to come to Atlanta .
Never been about money just india

Like everything in forge everything is “designed” like a gigantic Frankenstein monster . When you have workers galore and can use more, you have to figure out work for them. Not really efficient isn’t it? Then because you want to increase headcount, everything takes 10 x more time to build. Finaly after delays it doesn’t work or is slow and expensive -with an bill that can run potentially in millions. Starts small $ then when you depend on it you are screwed. That’s when you loose your customers and still have to pay forge.
Welcome to the forge milking station.

@2syt, if we do that, how are we going to fund those trains of visas for HTS to come here…more pyramids are needed…right?
People forget its political and about India first NOT Honeywell first . HW is just used as a immigration bridge. Always been.
Note that after it gets build in AWS who can truly maintain it? HTS? Off course not…

It's cheaper to contract a data scientist and build a solution on AWS than to use Forge. Much easier to justify the expense too.

Forge needs to be a tool free for honeywell internal use. Productively justifies the reoccurring maintenance costs which should be paid on the corporate level as overhead.

I really think we should get rid of any connected “work product” in aero.
All we get are people trying to stick us with some sub part gizmo and then bill us the heck out of it. So our margin get smaller and we have to deal with our own customers explaining why the gizmo doesn’t work. That’s not a win win no matter how you look at it.

What wrong with creating pyramids and replacing the old that can’t follow the processes ? …. Stuff doesn’t work blame the architects, fellows, sr engineers which are not from HTS where we put them through heavy training.
That has been the reality for a while and this is how things should be.

It’s clear we are just producing hot wind in forge and connected are just used to have more Indian pyramids . Everyone should stay away from their junk “products” and experiments that only makes others dépendant of a sinking ship.
Aero $ has been viewed as a prized target due to the potential of having a bunch more pyramids created in AZ

Well at least the incompetent directors got money out of it with a promo….and going for the next round of forge 16.0
This is not about advancing but about India everywhere… clearly
We hope aero remains indépendant and kicks them out!

Many of the pieces existed as very profitable independent companies before getting bought out and absorbed into the atrocity that is Forge. Even if you can use them to help you out, you can't because of how billing works at Honeywell. You can't just pay for the labor, you must pay them with a profit.

Then they laid off the technical engineers that knew the product.

Mehul is that you?
Never a dull day on the layoff site….
So we are at at least the 3rd iteration of the same effort with different names, same behavior pattern obviously and yet we are expecting different results ?
Maybe we are in the meta verse where laws of engineering and physics don’t have the same meaning. Next we will get VR headsets? Can we get them attached to the musical chairs (motorized) we are so fond of?

Hello this is M. I can guarantee all that the issues are being corrected. I am constantly being told by the VPs reporting to me of what is really happening and everything they have mentioned points to a lack of processes, (We need more) a need to cut costs and a lack of staffing from HTS. There are no issues at any VP levels and they have done their utmost to delight our customers..
We clearly have some Directors that are not "acceptable" in their current positions and I will be promoting them 1 level up shortly.

Bangalore is a recipe for failure. We all know that.

Anyone currently in needs to look for a different team to join. Forge has no future, failing project, all the competent people that worked on it during the sentience times have left a long time ago. They are making the same mistakes that GE made.

In forge we feel like those Russians in Ukraine we see on TV… nothing works, tanks in the ditch, tech breaks down, process galore results in a week to advance a mile…. And like them we keep saying all is great, something new that will generate money is just around the corner. Oh and we also blame others for our troubles.
Our morale is down and all we see are directors and VPs jockeying for a promo and a bigger pyramid.

Sh-t is sh-t. Let us plan and design better sh-t. It’s all about processes. If it doesn’t work, promote!
The reasoning goes: if one can’t manage a team to even make a single cookie, let’s promote and make sure they manage the multiple cookies making, the cakes and other things.
Makes perfect sense here….

Here we go again…. At this rate we’ll see those bombastic incompetent loosers trying to come to aero and milk us for their connected projects. I recall the “connected” toilets forged in Atlanta. They were backed up and flooded everyone with sh-t
