Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

How many people have really decided not to RTO?

I wasn’t called back to the office, but I’m hearing from my coworkers that the buildings are still pretty empty. Are people really standing their ground and simply not showing up? Or have that many people gotten medical exemptions? If you were called back and you trefuse to RTO, I tip my hat to you.

I went in to see the set up. No one there on the entire floor. Nor in the floors. (I looked)

It sure does look like people are voting with their feet.

The easiest way is to pull vpn reporting. Can’t sit in your car all day in the financial center parking lot.

HI - I had a RTO date :( I immediately submitted to my doctor an accommodations request and it was approved. I mentioned the anxiety and stress of daily exposure to COVID and my doctor let them know it could exacerbate my anxiety, depression, leading to increase in already high blood pressure. I was approved for 3 days home, 2 days in office. I can select the 2 days I'd like to be in office. I returned last week.

Stop worrying about what management will do folks.

What consequences can there be? Sure they can threaten to fire you, and take your team from 20% understaffed to 25% understaffed...unlikely to happen, and you can easily get a job elsewhere if they actually carry through with it.

Other possible consequence? It is taken into account when it is time for consideration for your 1.5% raise...huge loss there.

Stay home, do your job. Let the bigwigs blow their hot air, it makes them feel good.

In Global Technology I heard that only 50% of the people who were supposed to show this week did. It was dead on our floor. My manager made me come otherwise I wouldn’t have.

Our senior exec said to suck it up and do what you’re told - that there’s no monitoring but if you don’t return your peers will tattle on you and there will be consequences.

None of my peers work in the same building soooooo…

Took like 6 weeks for process. They have the questionnaire available if you request it from medical accomodations...no letter but the rep will send questionare to dr to fill out

What did your doctor put on your medical exemption. I’m not sure how to ask my dr for the letter they want

How long until you hear back on the exemption? I was assigned a case worker but was never contacted further.

If your manager approved it why you worried?

So the interesting thing for me was I got the "you will return" message so I obtained a medical exemption. It was easy I asked two different doctors and they both said, "they want you to do what....no way". And, they both wrote a letter. But after I started that process, my manager said told me that if they denied my medical, just don't go in...nobody is checking. The medical when through with no issue...so I think I'm covered, but who know when they will start monitoring or what form that monitor will take. Folks keep saying badge swipes...but in my area, there aren't even enough cubes if we were to all show up on the same day.
