On a scale from 1 to 10 . I’ll give mine a solid 2.

What if your supervisor is a contractor?.. Like in Annandale Research Operations, and ETC PA loves contractors…..so corrupt 102-475 personnel piggy bank
Never had an honest manager at Exxon or ExxonMobil. All self-indulgent ego-driven maniacal liars. Narcissism is a prerequisite to be a manager there.
HiPo supervisors are the worst. There are some supervisors who aren’t HiPos who still relate to us commoners. I don’t expect them to not do their job and pip 8% just like no one on this thread refuses to submit their EADS or whatever it is called now. Stop the BS claim you are better than supervisors. Everyone just doing their job. There are individual contributors who are aweful as well.
I've experienced an odd mix in 18 years. What's that - 10 'supers'?
The average on scale is 5, I guess as would be expected if this was an assembly-line operation or the military. But I thought I joined something better.
Older Supers and Managers tend to be better.
Not sure if that's a generational or maturity thing.
Young management punks are evil 'people'.
British accents - no matter how old or experienced - dirty snipes.
Engineers of any field tend to do better and even resist the illogical, though it would have been even better for them if they'd studied a little history and sociology.
In general - it is a total tossup.
If your current supervisor is young and clean-cut, good luck!
@pod+1fypMvAO your boss sounds like a gossip

She who you want to insert here fakely - does not exist. XOM supervisors are corrupt across the board; otherwise, they won't survive such assignments. It is incredible to see (i) constant sycophants becoming supervisors, OR (ii) normal people who became supervisors very rapidly became sycophants. These two categories constitute 100% of the supervisors.
The best managers I’ve had are about a 7, with 10 being completely transparent and 5 being average. The bad ones I’ve had, of which there are many, are usually 2’s, sometimes pretending to be 7’s.
I would say a 8, she tells me everything off the record, but in official meetings she sometimes excludes some information. Nothing that people need to know, but usually things some people might be somewhat interested in. Although I wouldn’t consider it dishonesty. If it was something important then yea selectively not mentioning things could be bad. But when it’s things that don’t matter, eh whatever.
Honesty is optional for supervisors.
Their job is to execute orders.
If they are told 8% they will execute 8%.
Some of them would attempt to do it with some degree of compassion or decency, but soon learn that it is unhealthy and counterproductive, so they will learn either not to care, or to enjoy it.
If you are a supervisor reading this, you should know that this is what everyone reporting to you thinks about you.
Now go and PIP your 8%.
Yes 2 is my vote
- 5
We need to have a negative scale here.
These fake XOM leadership people will not be hired anywhere else, so they are actively draining every ounce of XOM resources to line their sad pockets through lies and deceit. They will continue until the demise of the corporation like Vultures
10!
I trust them to save the company every penny and to lie at every opportunity. And to br good at it.
Come on! Honest manager is an oxymoron. You either have an honest person or a manager in Exxon, but not both.
Zero; all these snakes deserve a zero
2 for not having b@lls to at least have an off the record side bar on the situation with real feedback.
2 sounds about right
