I don't feel sorry for those who worked at the office, got a two-year-long vacation, and now don't want to go back to doing what they signed up to do in the first place. I do feel sorry for those who have been working remotely from the start of their employment and are now expected to go to the office when some of them don't even have an office near them to go to. Those people have every right to complain and I hope they manage to find a way to make it work.

@op great post, spot on!!!
Up your a$$ with 2 year vacation! I have put in enough hours to cover 3 years. The sole reason I can’t wait to go to the office is to say - it’s 5:00, time to fu-k off and LEAVE.
Those of us in Tech are D-O-N-E, done with these hours.
I don’t recall anyone signing up to get exposed to a potential deadly disease during a pandemic.
I've signed up for remote working. Now they 'welcome me back' to some office bs.
Tomorrow is the D day for those scheduled to return on the 14th.
I will be resigning. They can call me back after I'm gone, will be back to return if they offer +50% salary bump and remote work.

More talk from the Wells Fargo sponsored tolls. Enjoy your paycheck troll.
I'm still trying to figure out how "OP" performs custodial work from home.
@OP needs to stop thinking their opinion matters. Just cause you post the same tripe every freaking day doesn't mean you're convincing anyone of your beliefs. It just proves that all of us live in your head rent free.
I feel badly for the ones who also were remote, as well, but I don't feel sorry for the ones who were already in the office.
This was a temporary situation, and now employees feel like executives are supposed to just cave in and let them wfh just because they've gotten used to it. Too bad. It's time to put your big pants on, and be an adult. Kids are back, and they're not whining and crying about it. My goodness!
I’m sad that my free two year paycheck is going away. Time to find a new job.
Many of us were hired as full time work from home over a decade ago. I've never had an office and one of the reasons I took this position (at a pay cut) was due to the remote work location. Now the company has gone back on that. Yes, I have the option to find a different position and very likely will, but it doesn't make the strategy any less illogical and puts the firm at a competitive disadvantage for acquiring talent. Its all about attrition, "self-decisioning" as Charlie puts it and has nothing to do with collaboration or improved productivity. They want to get headcount down and it is definitely working.
Just there are "plenty" who don't mind going back into the office, there are many more that actually do mind based on what has been proven from the WFH concept. I sympathize completely with not being able to go into your original office, but again, why should we have to when there is no one on our teams in the same office to collaborate with.

It was never a vacation, don't spread misinformation. Most of us do more work from home than we do in the office and attempts to obfuscate that by calling it a vacation are nothing more than lies.
The plain fact is nearly all of our business lines - except for customer facing departments or people who need special equipment - can do most of their work from home. There is no need for antiquated business actions managed by antiquated managers with antiquated ideas. It's a digital age with a global workforce. Get on board or get left behind.
There are plenty of us who don’t have a problem going back to an office…as long as it’s the location you started with. Asking people to drive longer in miles and time, now paying for parking and ‘collaborating’ with nobody is ridiculous when we could just go back to our original office.
Thanks for sharing, Spanky.
The world changes. Just because something seemed normal years ago doesn't mean it's forever the best way to do things.
While the rest of the world evolves and works remotely, you can keep kissing the a$ses of people that don't know you even exist, and dutifully march into your office cubicle everyday.
