I think Cisco is on a downward spiral. It's unfortunate because I think it didn't have to be that way if only the right moves were made in time and the leadership had a vision and worked for the future of this company. Now it is difficult to say whether anything could stop this decline?

Decline will continue as long as Cisco spends more time trying not to offend anyone vs running an efficient business. Get woke, go broke.
"if you not hear for check why you here? cisco not church or community club. work cisco pay me. thats it!"
What the poster meant is that people have no passion or pride for working here any more. They just want to get paid and then leave with no interest in going the extra mile like they would have done in the olden days. They want to do the minimum possible.
A company in fast changing IT full of people like this is on a death spiral.
They refuse to listen to anyone trying to explain from the bottom what’s wrong. You get labeled as a crazy lazy complainer. Today I was forced to spend about an hour “proving” that a 100G switch piped to a 10G egress which piped to a 1G egress was not the cause of output discards on the 1G egress….I mean come on who the he-l makes someone do that what a waste of time. As a result 30 other cases that are verified problems within the tech I support got to sit and Rot, so I could prove something someone with a ccna coildnhabe picked up on from
The high level diagram. Problems
Like this are RAMPANT on top of abysmal staffing and if you try to explain none of it is good you get labeled and targeted and harassed.
So what happens? People shut up, put in the minimum, go DND at 8 hour mark and collect a check.
Then you have Cisco getting in every political cause imagined. Take your politics out of it, cutting off Russia was d-mb. They were one of our biggest customers and that’s gonna hurt.
And if you think Russia won’t ban Cisco like US banned Huawei? Just wait for it. On top of everything else that’s gonna hurt and makes no business sense. But of course the state department made CISCO do that. Maybe they’re so woke they did it on their own but no matter how bad you hate Russia cutting off literal hundreds of millions yearly is never good business
There is no rewards any more. its a Check. Basic employee happiness says, you can't pay people to be unhappy. Happy people don't need to be highly paid either! TAC is bad. Failures are Bad. Now my SE is from a Pool, now my sales person is going to come from a pool... who's going to be there to help when things go wrong?
Nooooo one.
- Many people are just here for the check and no longer passionate about the company due to lack of motivation and reward.--

Regrettably I do not think it is possible to stop the decline, that date was about 2015 and the changes needed should have happen around then. The problems are deeply embedded and cultural. Many people are just here for the check and no longer passionate about the company due to lack of motivation and reward.
Product delivery dates worse than ever. TAC worse than ever. Customer frustration with quality worse than ever. Licensing a complete disaster. I would tend to agree the ball is rolling downhill faster and faster.
