A lot of unsatisfied people are waiting to be let go rather than leave on their own, with the intention to get a severance package.
While I understand that to a degree I have to ask is it worth it. Sure, it is nice to walk away with a certain amount of money, but that also means that that employee isn’t in a position to plan when that is going to happen and therefore there is little chance that that certain employee will have his next job lined up. That naturally implies that that person will spend at least a couple of months searching for the next job and spending the money that he received. Looks to me like a lot of uncertainty. Isn’t it better to search for a job while still employees and then leave on your own terms.

I admire the generality of this post.
It is very well developed.
Good luck to you, OP.
Hope your thesis is approved.
Doh svedenya.
Do what I did back in early 2020. Scuttled my short EMHC career by turning in a half-assed PDA. I knew the 8% NSI was coming and wanted to be included. Took the PIL (Wasn’t playing the PIP game) and got a new job paying slightly more. Enjoyed 3 months of double pay and benefits while selling my house in Spring and buying a new home in a much nicer part of Texas.
Got to know how to play the cards dealt to you.
I'm another just waiting for the payoff.
No, when getting the 4 months of pay is dependent on signing a 14 page document to remain silent is dependent on it. There is a word for that. Hard pass
Totally, just milk it until the ship finally sinks. I'll keep on hanging around doing next to nothing and keep getting paid!
What they don’t realize is they can make more than the PIL very quickly at another job that pays more.
