Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Losing one employee per week

My team has been losing one employee per week since RTO started. Needless to say, none of them have been replaced yet and we have been forced to cover their work. I admit I'm freaking out a bit right now because if it continues like this, those of us who are not planning to resign are screwed.

As long as King Charles doesn't lose his large salary increase we shouldn't care about working harder to cover for those who have left. We live to please him. Don't ever forget that.

Our team lost the first one this week. We are team of just 6. I am interviewing. Two others will leave for sure if it comes down to it.

Sorry Op—not sure I understand your last sentence. Are you telling me there are actually people at WF who don’t plan to resign sometime in the near future?

Oh I get—that was an April Fool’s joke. You’re good…had me going there for a minute! :)

@xxm+1g2IyOk0 was it a WF recruiter or another company?
If WF, it doesn't surprise me since most of the WF recruiters have NO idea how to screen for openings --you could have been already doing the work and they'll deny app.

You can only do what you can do. What I won't be doing is the entire job that another person was doing, unless they want to start paying me what that other person was making in addition to my current salary. Do your hours, and go home. Period. The bank and its troubles will be there tomorrow when you come back in.

Our team had 3 people quit in the last 6 months after 1/3 of the team was fired. No one has been hired to replace them.

Positions are not being replaced, especially in non- target ( HUB) sites.

Worked at a major bank for a few years, which is just code for sales and investing. Working conditions got unbearable during the pandemic and decided to quit and look for something else not related in any way to customer service as it is horrific. I applied for an admin back office job at something related to banking -- corporate employee retirement programs.

Had an interview earlier this week over teams. We were going over my resume and whatever I had written wasn't right, "oh you went to this university, we prefer our employees to be from this other university", "You have 5 years experience, we are looking for someone with 10 years" sort of situation. At one point the HR lady said "You have this certification and license but we would rather you have a CFA" and I replied "I dont see how having a CFA works for this admin position, can you elaborate how?" to which they didnt know they just said old manager for this job likes seeing CFA and masters degrees from A tier univesities. Regardless I carried on. We discussed salary and I provided a range and they said my range was too high and they were looking for about 65-75% my range, I replied that the salary range I provided was the same one on indeed. The HR interviewer replied it was to attract talent but the real range was lower.

At that point I told her I was cutting the interview short. She was a little taken aback and asked why. I told her I don't think we are on the same page, the company is looking for something I am not. I wasn't looking to play games and stated "You're looking for someone with a CFA with 10 years experience that you're looking to pay @65% of my salary range". The HR recruiter then told me everything was negotiable and I would be seeing salary increases every year (more US corporate lies/psych ops) but that they were trying to judge my reactions to criticism. (I don't believe in these end of year salary increase shenanigans because of inflation or some other "we are reviewing pay scale stuff stall games, and employment at will US empire regimes). I told him I had the impression they were playing games. I wished them the best of luck finding this ideal candidate, wished them a good day and hung up the teams interview.

I am a professional, you want to have a professional work for you and you want a professional conversation about tasks and responsibilities dont waste my time with trying to judge reactions and trying to cut me down with typical US empire false advertizing - low balling.

HR rep thought it would be a good idea to play games to judge my reactions, I cut the interview short and said ba bye to US empire nonsense

India now, but it's the same basic concept, if India gets expensive it's on to the next cheap labor country.

I’m in tech and while our team is not losing as many people as you - yet - we were told that ANY turnover will not be backfilled. Our boss is a decent guy and told us if any employee or contractor leaves his only staffing choices are India or nothing.

Start looking if you haven’t, this is just starting to get bad!
