The move to Florida is what ki---d the context. Accounting jobs in Florida are a dime a dozen and so no one really learns what it is that they are actually analyzing. 'Centers of Excellence" reminds me of the "Newspeak" or "Doublespeak" that George Orwell wrote about in 1984, as in reality they are Centers of Misinformation. But the concept made somebody feel important!

Finance transformation is a joke. First they move a bunch of jobs around geographically so you lose valuable institutional knowledge. Then they encourage digital transformation but don’t provide the training or time to learn new tools. So people put in their own time to learn, for example, Tableau, but then the company decides it’s too expensive for the licenses and go in another direction. I finally gave up and moved on to greener pastures last year, I’m so much happier.

Post ID: @jrp+1g2ZCRdl is 100% correct. Finance Transformation is really the de facto degradation of a solid no nonsense telecommunications company. Leadership’s vision for a smooth transformation to a technology company is not coming to fruition. Sad! Really hope that VZ survives but the numbers show otherwise!

It really is offensive that the supposed bright eyed and bushy tailed politically correct favored sons and daughters completely made a mess of finance transformation; mostly because they do not know nor care about this business.

It is shocking that at this point that the company does not track its own circuits using Blockchain technology but then acts surprised when the lose money on circuits.

I actually feel sorry for the VZ king of finance because he is being fed copious amounts of nonsense.

Finance Transformation is exactly like 5G. One FP&A being the kingdom of duplicity and duplicative actions and reports no one cares about actually had a high paid group that was based on making reports from two day old reports that some other group was putting out.

There was a great deal of focus on fooling around with statistical data sets which turned out to be nothing more than a bunch of mathematical mental mast&*%$#. Every month they would all jabber off numbers in the best English that they could, although it was remnant of the English movie Sn---h, but almost none of them had the faintest idea about what any of it actually meant.

Meanwhile the CFO is really thinking that his troops are looking into Blockchain and AI but really just more of the same old BS. What a missed opportunity.
