Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Working with covid

Branches are now making employees who tested positive for Covid come into work if they don’t have symptoms. This is not an April fools joke. My question is what happened to Covid that it’s now not dangerous? Was it overhyped for the last two years and now the media is bored and moved on to the war? Or is Wells Fargo putting customers lives at risk making employees with Covid work. Something has to give…which is it?

Responsible thoughtful adults will get tested if they show symptoms. When responsible thoughtful adults test positive, they notify WFC and isolate. WFC is following CDC guidelines and will notify those employees who came in close contact. Those employees who came in close contact will test themselves, if they are responsible thoughtful adults, so as to protect those around them.

That’s how it works. It’s not perfect since there are those who are asymptomatic, but it’s the best way to proceed at this time if responsible thoughtful adults want to try to get back to the new normal.

I’m not for RTO in any way, but the “media overhyped it” cult is ridiculous and need to try to keep at least one foot in reality.

"Was it overhyped for the last two years and now the media is bored and moved on to the war?"

That's one take. Another is that the rates of new infections and deaths have plummeted: https://www.google.com/search?q=covid+infection+rate#colocmid=/m/09c7w0&coasync=0

PS: The media can't focus on everything with the same amount of urgency all at the same time. And Biden isn't scoring more points by changing his focus, either.

There is no going back. There’s a new normal and even if businesses don’t think COVID is a threat, it still is. Endemic phase doesn’t mean it’s any less contagious, and it still doesn’t mean that your body and brain won’t get damaged when you get an infection. Endemic phase has a whole protocol of its own.

That old way of life you had two+ years ago is done. It won’t ever return no matter how badly you hope it will.

If there is no more required testing and no symptoms showing, why would somebody know they are positive? Testing just so they have an excuse not to work? We need things to get back to a normal folks, the super sensitive needs to stop, accept it and move on. There are a lot of contagious virus floating thru this country everyday that put us at risk. I am sure this will be voted down, but people need to get a grip!

Profits over people. Escalation is a joke if you think things will change. You are just putting yourself at risk. Escalation did no good when millions of fake accounts got created.

Just love this management... come in sick and risk the health of your customers. There are people at risk regardless of the variant due to age and health conditions. Bravo Wells Fargo.

This should not be the case. If it is happening, you should escalate.

WFC is following CDC guidelines. If you test positive, you should isolate for 5 days. If no symptoms, you can then return to work on the 6th day.

What happened is that new strains are milder than the older ones and are not affecting people as much, especially those who're vaccinated. Knowing that, I guess leadership now believes letting people who don't have symptoms come in is an acceptable risk. It shouldn't be, in my opinion, because those in high-risk groups are still in just as much danger. But nobody asks me.
