T-Mobile Plan for VZ Retirees

I am approaching TMUS about having a plan for retirees from VZ, which would be quite a coup for them and the retirees.

After over 20 years with VZ and they drastically cut the retiree phone service benefit, I can say I am a very happy TMobile customer and enjoying lower rates and excellent customer service at a price VZ can't ( or should I say WONT) beat.

“ The 'Cost" of the "Retiree Health Benefit" for Managers is unaffordable at almost $2,000 per month.”
If you were here long enough at the cutoff it was 100% paid or so they said. I know those who went out with less than that say 50-80% said it was unaffordable to pointless and they got other plans on the market. My spouses retiree medical from the state will be over $2k a month so completely pointless at that point.

Telco is an 800 pound gorilla alright. An 800 pound gorilla on the backs of the shareholders. Hasn't been profitable since 1993.

"They can use that 100% paid retiree medical and get some mental help."

The 'Cost" of the "Retiree Health Benefit" for Managers is unaffordable at almost $2,000 per month.

This company is mismanaged joke. Because it is the 800 pound gorilla of telecom and makes money regardless of who is in charge, it has been allowed to hid the failures of 5G and Yahoo and 2.0.

It is sad but everything that John Legere from T-Mobile said about the company and his former co-workers has been right on the money. What happens next before the next contract extension will be critical.

Expect layoffs to move with topline growth.

While it was nice for them Im so happy the last of my coworkers who actually got retiree benefits left with the VSP. It was annoying hearing them constantly complain as their pension estimates fell and they wanted to wait for a RIF. They probably are complaining that they didnt wait longer of rates really are better now but at least I dont have to hear about it. They can use that 100% paid retiree medical and get some mental help.

There are no retiree 'benefits' which cannot be purchased elsewhere, both better and cheaper. It really is embarrassing and demonstrates the company's lack of integrity. Most employees over 55 likely still have their 'employee handbooks extolling all of the retiree benefits that were taken away. It really was a scam

@3jkz from VZW sounds like he has a good plan at the 'competitor'. I am going to check that out. Thanks.

as a current VZW employee I subscribe to our competitors' 55+ plus plan which gives me 2 lines of unlimited plus Netflix for $70.

what does retiree wireless cost? Is it a better deal than what I pay?

they already offer a $15 plan. it doesnt get any better than that. do you want them to market a plan that is so narrowly focused on a small group to make you feel special? sorry T mobile like ATT makes plans that have mass appeal, not to a group of entitled old people.

When did the union get a VSP?

Many talented Techs (Union or non) left VZ during the VSP. They felt management was indifferent towards them. Here would be their chance to get back into the game. And if an offer is anything close many would sign on.

Looks like the same woke Disney crowd is now at the company too. I think that would be great idea! 25% discount doesnt do it! Imagine how many net new post paids that would be for T Mobile? Plus the network is now better and faster than Verizons. I'm in,
