Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Nothing is guaranteed or lasts forever

I thank my lucky stars every work day that I have a RTO exemption but we've been repeatedly warned that it could disappear tomorrow - which I am sure it will once they aren't as hard up for experienced people to fill my teams positions. It was made clear that was the only reason for the exemption.
Anyone hear of any other reasons a team was exempted?
It'd be nice to have a backup plan when the inevitable happens....

Agile registry- if your team is on it, you may continue to wfh and go in only for the “special” meetings if you will be joined by one other team member.

You know what else doesn't last forever? CEOs. I can jump through hoops a few years.

Your backup plan should be finding employment elsewhere that is fulltime remote... Thats it.

Underwriters are the only entire group that I know that have full remote. Otherwise it's just individuals or another company.

With that said, I've two very different versions of the current environment. I've heard that they are concerned with losing too many of the right people due to RTO. That's been the problem with the recent attrition. The wrong people are staying and the key people are leaving.

The other version is that they'll discontinue hybrid and go back to 5 days a week in about 6 months. I've also heard they are going to go full steam ahead on the workplace location strategy and that may impact the current folks who obtained remote status

Supporting business activities that occur after hours and/or on weekends seems to be a helpful criteria.
