Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Bu-----t

Laying off America workers I feel favor of offshoring and not paying equal wages is racism and corporate colonialism.

I don't downvote or upvote anyone but after reading the post, it seems awfully naive to think that we're suddenly going to stop running businesses to profit the shareholders rather than investing in the workers. Globalization is pretty well entrenched everywhere these days and you're either a knowledge worker or a service worker. Better to figure out which you prefer and excel at it, make your money and retire early. Ticking boxes on an anonymous website won't change a thing.

I didn’t mind the predawn meetings when I was WFH, but I won’t do them anymore.

Same on my team in Risk, constant pre dawn meetings because people are afraid to make the Indian employees have to log in after 8pm.

@1iyr the bank treats the India based members of my team much better than they treat the US based members.

People who are downvoting Post ID: @mag+1g4m5VrY, what are your reasons?

Bingo! I think about that every time we get a lecture about discrimination and DE&I -- in America, that is. If you live outside of America and have a different skin color, then the Bank will treat you like a second-class citizen and pay you pennies.

what was found to not work was offsboring customer service roles. and you're telling me only India employees lie cheat and steal? Plenty of US based employees do the same.

Other industries found out that massive offshoring and outsourcing didn't work. Back when George Bush was president. Senior.

@wpo a former India-based coworker who left WF severely lies about what they were doing at WF. It explains how so many of them are utterly clueless when they get brought on.

Not to mention the identity theft. It’s rampant.

Yes! And I am not a white male. If you are a true American you'd find the actions of this American bank pretty sick. All about making the rich richer. This is happening a lot more than it was 20 years ago. Our great (ha ha) leaders of this nation need to tax the crxp out of companies who have so many positions being filled in another country. Keep our borders open and keep letting millions in because more will need supported by our government. And farms are getting smaller and food production is getting smaller....but we need more people here and less jobs. America needs to wake up.

what do you mean not paying equal wages. the same reason base salary is 20%+ in CA vs. IA is the same reason India employees are half most US wages. from a cost of living they are doing just fine.

There needs to be a law that American owned companies who offshore must pay the same rate (converted) to those employees as well as the same level of benefits. You’d see the offshoring fry up overnight.

Go to our external job search page, search for ‘CISA’ and you’ll find close to 55 in India, and 40 in the USA…. CISA is an audit certification, shows how much they care about how we look to the OCC or about our audits.
