Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

BTC layoffs

Hire 100, NSI 10, NI 20

No trqining, no support, poor comp, bare minimum benefits - a sweatshop

Expats cost is more than rest of employees, spending time here doing nothing except making insensitive jokes, because they are here on vacation.

How is being fun y the answer to all these issues?

I have personally had to correct a major mistake by a BTC Engineer that did not have enough or correct experience for what he was hired to do. Maybe Quality would have caught the error if I had not caught the error, but could have lead to catastrophic consequences and multiple fatalities.

There is potential for huge mistakes / explosions when you go low cost at every step in this industry.

Expats by definition are the greedy bunch in the corporation. Exxonmobil is a dead company and all the deadwood is trying to get as much as it can squeeze out of the dying company

Just wait until the company finds the next “low cost” location, determines BTC is over staffed, then uses categories like “employee does not fit the long term vision” to lay off hundreds of mid career, well ranked employees.

MD will sort it all out. Just let him analyze it up until his next assignment comes along, then pass it on to his successor.

For 1 US employees, they can hire about 5 employees in BTC...so the company is not worried about the attrition because some jobs are meant for entry level job, and they wish to have it like that...so people will come and go and it is the employees who stays are the one will stress out, because they always have to keep training the new employees....the company don't care about it...they don't want to have high level paid employees anyway....the high pay is only reserved for the executives....welcome to corporate America :)
