Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

There’s a reason why so many good people have left the bank

I left a week ago after spending 3 years at the bank and haven’t looked back. After months and months of applying and interviewing for roles internally - seeking a band promotion or a lateral move on a high impact team - and seeing less experienced people receiving the offer, it became clear that staying here was a dead end.

Because BofA wasn’t going to give a top performer the opportunity to grow their career here, I sought my promotion externally and feel incredibly lucky to have secured a $35K base raise and full time WFH role, while staying in the same industry.

My advice to others: There’s a reason why so many good people have left the bank. Flexibility and money can be found on the external job market, just don’t wait too long or you’ll miss your opportunity!

I wanted to bump this to the top since it's both true and good advice. I reposted it from @wjc+1g5sLDnF.
