Thread regarding Ford layoffs

The exodus continues!

Another week, more departures from Ford. From GSRs to LL5s, lots of rats jumping the sinking ship. As predicted, with all of these voluntaries, involuntaries will be superfluous.

This in unsustainable, and as these losses mount, and dates are missed as a result, the market will begin to react negatively. This is becoming really concerning quickly.

You can always tell when Ford ‘leadership’ doesn’t know what to do, as they spent an inordinate amount of time on non-productive activities that have intangible results at best. You know the drill, lots of posturing and press releases from the execs.
One of our LL4 is infamous for wasting time on silly stuff. He once had daily two hour meetings for an entire week in which we reviewed a power point presentation for a project proposal. The first 11 hours he spent trying out different colors and fonts, I kid you not for 11 hours we had to listen and watch this guy try different shades of blue and different fonts. Finally we get to the content, which he clearly did not understand as he required me to be a guest presenter to the LL3. The only comment the LL3 had was ‘Why didn’t you use the standard Ford power point format?’ , which is what was originally used. You can’t make this shxt up.

There’s going to continue to be a mass exodus, Doug Field pretty much stated in a video that he was only going to hire diverse people and ignore resumes of people that have similar backgrounds. The video was very disturbing in terms of things that he said, making it sound like that people that go to the “same schools and the same churches” are less than. Sounds like Apple‘s discards are bringing and even woker path to ford

Maybe next year a few that stay will get rewarded with bonuses that are half those at GM, instead of one third.

Of course there is an exodus of skilled employees, they are not valued at Ford.
The Ford bulk emails are only about the people who matter to Ford managers, namely themselves and friends and family. Just like the fr—p, daily puffery and self promotion and backslapping. LOL Ain’t no one coming around to interview people who resign for the bulk emails. Cuz they know resignations are infectious, one little domino, two little dominoes, oh lookie there they all go.

There is no mass exit going on. There have been plenty of added new leadership hires this year. Plus, if you are subscribed to the personal announcements bulk email distribution, you can see first hand the advancement of existing employees and how the new members of Ford leadership (LL5+) are structured into the company.

Yeah all of the contributors in our area are interviewing. The non-contributors aren’t.
We all are fantasizing about jumping ship in a group and leaving the group with nothing but the non-contributors. We can’t decide which is better all resigning the same day, or staggered so that guy 1 turns over work to guy 2 who resigns and turns over work to guy 3 who resigns and dumps everything on the incompetent non-contributors.

I too have been hearing of people quitting. Can't say I blame them. How do you expect people to stick around when you have a CEO & President that come right out and tell the press you are not wanted or trainable?
Funny thing is JF is supposed to be a so-called car guru. Well since he came our market share has declined. So, he cannot be trained either!
