Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Selling data

People need to get real about the value of any data a Ford vehicle collects. Currently, my iPhone is connected to my vehicle insurer via their app. The insurer knows everywhere I drive, how fast I drive, where I park my vehicle and for how long. Apple also has this same data by virtue of providing the hardware for the app. So Ford has the same data on the vehicle. If a company wants to buy any of that data, who will they buy it from? Wherever they can get it the cheapest.

I can’t wait to see the revenue numbers broken out so data and subscription sales are line items:

2022 revenue:
Automotive (Blue) $100,000,000,000
Credit (Blue) $10,000,000,000
Mobility (e) $18,000,000
Data (e) $0
Subscriptions (e) $0

GO BLUE!

We need reality awareness fairs more than anything else.

There are plenty of connected data resources available to you. I am sure you can find any information you are looking for plus learn how our future is evolving with the company transformation. Might want to check out the digital awareness fairs too this month.

We will sell Ford vehicle data to Ford dealers so they know when the vehicle is on its last legs, and they will know you might be a customer for a new vehicle. Oh, but we want to sell vehicles direct to order. Okay, we will sell our data to ourselves so we will know when a customer might be ready to order a new vehicle! Great idea!
