If Democrats wanted oil production to increase why don’t they allow us to restart SYU?
An average of 27 million cubic feet of natural gas and 30 thousand barrels of oil and condensate was produced per day (gross) in 2014 from three offshore platforms — Hondo, Heritage and Harmony.
I would love to see SYU restarted but as DW implied before Congress he is not on business for the US citizen. And honestly 30K a day isn't going to make a major impact on energy supply in this country or even Cali.
SYU should be restarted……. Or continue to pay more for fuel and live with rolling blackouts.
If texians want to start up their own energy-fulfilled republic, why don't they just say so.

Neither Plains nor XOM want to invest in a money losing asset with significant surface risk. Restart costs are high and we will be only ones using pipeline.
