Blackball List?

Is there some type a list of employees that managers or recruiters have to prevent the interview process? I understand you must have a meets/meets on performance and cannot be on a written warning status but what else could cause so many rejections of applications when someone has more than the adequate skills and experience for a position?

Req's are posted for compliance, not because they actually want people to apply. The people they want have already been notified about the promotion. I had two awesome rounds for a position and before the final the interview, the position was already filled by someone they had in mind for the job, who didn't even interview for the position.

It's not about what you know, it's about WHO you know.

Friend of mine, a BOA employee 30+ years, estimated 90-95% of job posting vacancies already pre-filled. Good cue: pull up existing employees in exact same role on LI and check education/work experience. I'd find time and time again that my education and work experience was definitively equal or better. So why no interview? Either 1.) black listed by creep-a-zoid manager 2.) job opening already pre-filled to cronies/friends/family 3.) age or reverse discrimination 4.) HR incompetence. No other explanations made sense.

I agree that it could mean someone is already lined up for the posting; OR, it's the recruiter. They don't always know what skills align with the job requirements. I had an associate receive an immediate rejection on a job she applied for. I couldn't understand why so I reached out to the hiring manager. She had to the tell the recruiter that this associate's background met the key requirements.

I find that in most cases they already have someone in mind for the role and will just interview a few people to show they weren’t biased when in actuality they are.

It's because you have to be in with upper management to get anywhere at that place. And if you aren't in the in crowd. Goodluck!

They have to keep the req up for 7 days. Then they close it down. Because they already know who they have selected for the job. They have to interview to make it look legit. Then they hire who they had in mind. Do some managers keep you down. Yes. It’s a method used because they know you know more than they know. They hope you eventually leave.before their lack of knowledge and gift for gab is found out.

Managers that want to keep you under their thumb… can prevent you from moving jobs internally.

Would a review be on a list because they don’t contact your manager until an interview is requested? I’m saying, I am not even getting the first interview from recruiter? I don’t have any issues with my manager.
