Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Hard Times

With rising fuel prices and tech work very limited, you can bet some technicians will be losing or giving up their jobs for the cause! A Transit Mini used to cost around $38 to fill and now it's at $58-60. The difference of $20 times 50,000 vehicles out there is $1M more each week for operating expenses! Can't sustain that for too long!

dude u got no life! retire and go on a vacation! dont die on job! lol

LOL...I get 240 hours of Vaca. Take at least 1 unpaid day off a week.
Fish more at work than I do off work.
Get $42 an hour. Do maybe 3 jobs a week.
Why would I leave?
Upper management knows, but says nothing because without techs they have no jobs.
I'll leave on my terms.
My vacations are more work than my job.

I don't blame you one bit! Don't look a gift horse in the mouth! That may not last forever, although, I hope it does at least for the next couple of years when I'll be retirement eligible!

Nope. I'll be out of the garage in 10 minutes as mandated. With no work.
Go to the gas station, get a coffee, a breakfast sandwich.
Hit the button, but there will still be "No jobs available"
So I'll drive to a hut, open the door to prove I went in, then go back to the truck and eat.
Listen to the radio. Read the paper.
After an hour, I'll hit the button again and still get no jobs.
Take a nap.
Then I'll drive to a ped by one of the lakes, throw some stickers on it, and fish for a while.
Rinse and repeat all day. 34 years in. I try to work, but they have none, and it's not my job to find some.
I'm on time, every day, ready to work.
Everything else is on them.
Why would I leave?
$42 an hour for this?
