it is 100% true that they are tracking IP... however, they are starting with badge swipes and then using IP to verify/validate ... I.e. to take people's excuses away ("the badge reader wasn't working", "I went in with someone else and didn't swipe", etc)
And yes, the discussions are starting with folks that are consistently coming in 0 or 1 day per week. It's a perf mgt issue.

Heard straight from an Exec today, they are looking at badge swipes and focusing ONLY on those who have not RTO’d (haven’t come in at all).
just an FYI, they have programming that tracks what applications you are in, and if you are actively working in them or just using your Amazon mouse mover...it's been going on for years.
We have to track RTO through IP because managers are spread throughout the country in different locations from their direct reports. Anyone see anything wrong with that???

the location icon is just a Microsoft thing. been there forever, it does indicate that an app or service is using your location, could be a wells fargo app could be any number of applications. whatever you do on your work computer the company can track, including your location.

Is that a momentary pop-up? I saw an icon pop-up a few days ago and it was like a brief flash, then it was gone. Didn't get a chance to really see it.
