Elimination of front end associates will start in the 3rd quarter, as they push scan n go.....you go. Managers will be running the front end. 3 more registers eliminated to extend 1st feature. Elimination of register operators. All associates must learn the floor scrubber and maintain it. Maintenence down to two part timers. More Police presence in the stores, Teir 1 and Teir 2 only.

So its like they want to punish those that have cash and checks? And what is their plan with those that need tax exemptions? When really in all reality it’s the Walton’s playing in with their part of new works order. To rid off cash, push us more and more to virtual currencies, because then big brother can know about everything you do officially if we don’t have cash being the ch--k in that chain.
You cannot use Scan & Go on Jewelry. You can, in certain states, use Scan & Go for alcohol and restricted items, the QR code is red, indicating to Exit Tech that ID has to be verified before processing the transaction.
Lol we had 2 registers this morning with 2 solid lines of members with flatbeds FULL of merch. These repeat members will not do sgo b/c of $ max and will not do sco b/c they already have too much cr-p! 1 register would have us w/a line of flatbeds to the meat dept., and little old ppl sprinkled in. It’s laughable. Sams is losing thousands daily at each store b/c of intentional theft at sco and sgo.
Well that would be so stupid because lately scan & go doesn't work half the time. Either u can't get it to work at all or u get everything scanned check out and it makes you go to thr register to check out anyways. So with no cashiers what u gonna do then?
They care about the older members about as much as they care about the long term associates.
I have never seen exti door people scan out receipts with alcohol. Not in California. You cannot purchase on self checkouts or scan and go. And if Sam's goes the way the original poster said, we will lose many of our older members.
I know there are clubs that already have no registers so I can see this totally happening. I say bring it we need more hands on deck on merch.
Oh come on. You’re talking about Sam’s Club Now. And the Now is not in Sam’s Club. If anything this company is going to eliminate the self-checkouts before the registers. Seriously. We don’t need self-checkout. Scan & Go IS self-checkout.
They still make too much cash money to remove it at this point.
I believe the club in Texas that was the test bed for the new automated front end runs with no cashiers. Everything goes either through scan n go, self checkouts or a single register. There is only supposed to be 1 MSL and 3 Member Greeters. Everyone else merchandises.
It will be interesting to see how many clubs survive in the mattress stuffer states.
You can purchase age restricted products on Scan N Go.... they verify your age at the door when they scan the QR code.
I laugh at these type of posts.. Where in the world do people get their information? Scan and Go does not work for age restricted sales or jewelry. Get a grip already. Such gossip.
I'm not surprised of this action. Over 30 years with Sams and have seen alot. When Scan--go was initially introduced, it was always determined that technology will be taking over. SnG is featured as a convenience to the members however what happens to the seniors who cannot embrace technology, the ones who still write checks or own flip phones? What happens when the Wi-Fi is acting up. Yes, running a cash register is slowly being eliminated and cash-less clubs/stores are beginning to be promoted. It was fun while it lasted!
why do they get rid of a cashier with scan n go then scan your order when you leave?
what happens if you dont let them scan your order? let a cashier do it the first time if you dont trust us.
I could see them getting rid of cashiers down the road unfortunately when the company probably hits a certain goal nationwide with scan-n-go. That's the only thing I see that scan n go benefits the company would be to eliminate cashier positions, now I don't agree with that because obviously will be putting people out of work. But again unfortunately it's the way this company wants to go in the future A.I, But hopefully it will backfire on them an they will regret eliminating positions, I've been with Sam's now for 10 years and definitely looking to get out when the opportunity is right. My club would rather pull cashiers to do other things except actually run a cash register, Trying to get everyone to use the scan n go or self checkout but alot of customers won't and will just wait in the 1 or 2 lines that are open because they pay to shop, the whole point of a membership driving warehouse is to have the associates wait on /take care of the members. Best of luck to all. Again hopefully they don't eliminate positions but wouldn't surprise me down the road if they did. They Gotta keep their rich n greedy shareholders/walton family happy.
