What's going on in EMIT?

What's going on in EMIT? LinkedIn has recently been flooded with all posts from departing employees from EMIT. Looks like everyone is leaving or prepping to leave except BK and his minions.

I dont believe those claiming to have "higher pay." Yes, you might get that in stock or other benefits but your cash flow is likely reduced if you're a HIPO or decent performer and have been with XOM-EMIT for the last 10+ years. I left last year and glad I did, but I took a cash flow hit on the promise of equity in 2-3 years....after that, I will be making more than I would have with XOM, even with RSU's (and I was 17 years in always ranked top 1/3 - or whatever its called now).

At least you still got Skype though!!! Or a UC system that doesn't integrate with anything (Zoom) lol.

BTW - that 3% "bonus" was a slap in the face....after taxes, you'd be lucky to buy a tank of gas with it.

Heard all BYU grads have been asked to exit EM ASAP.
Same as with the Ensign investments a couple years back.
Clean level. Clear out.

Id be willing to bet many of the EMIT employees cheerleading the company are doing so only to keep up appearances while they look for new jobs

To answer the OP's question. Staale wants virtually all of EMIT moved to GBCs or to MSPs. We are consistently told that this is not the case in forums, but then you hear otherwise through reputable back channels as well as work transition projects being funded. People see the writing on the wall and are leaving if they can.

Bill K. had the gall to call EMIT's skills/people fungible in a recent forum. Well, people are showing him that, yes their skills can easily be moved to other employers in any industry. As was mentioned, everyone is testing the waters. There is still the group of people in their late 40's trying to ride it out, but anyone younger than that is looking. New resignations weekly and sometimes daily. I do suspect a lull in resignation until June 16th (in the US).

@elt+1gEueWTk Not really, tons of EM managers and supervisors have left (and some PIPed) and went on to work in bigger tech companies where they make more. Not as many as individual contributors, but that’s also because we have more individual contributors than management.

Interestingly but not surprisingly most (if not all) of these posts are from worker bees and not many, if any from EMIT managers or supervisors. This may serve as the testament that XOM does protect supervisors (except perhaps FLS) and managers (technically less competent) more than skilled and technically competent workers that actually help the company make money. Protected managers and supervisors only post positively attractive posts on LI to attract newbies come and fall into the ho-e protecting their own seats from loss.

You should NEVER stop looking for the next job.

Employers value you in terms of their bottom line. Employees should value employers based on the paycheck and/or opportunities provided. Simply.

Now, take your power back by continuously looking for the next job, even if you already have one. And, don’t be a whiner; just move on.

Good luck, peace.

I can confirm about higher pay. I was willing to leave just to work in a better culture/environment, but as it turns out other operators valued my skill set way more than I anticipated. Test the waters and make the best decision for you and your family. Too often people at XOM think this is the only shop in town, but I have to say some of its allure has definitely been knocked off over the past few years. Sure, the company may be making money hand over fist, but how does that translate to you and yours ? I hope this helps someone on the fence to make their choice.

Cheers!

Everyone I talk with seems to be at least testing the waters about leaving. Other places seem to be offering significantly higher pay. Just imagine, having a larger paycheck and not worrying about the fake yearly reviews…
