They are taking away company owned devices but I use my phone for email especially when traveling. I also have clients that call my phone if needed. Anyone able to get their cell bill reimbursed? Or other recommendations?

Just wait until they have you use your own computer when not in the office.

If someone wants those apps, sure, there is a trade off on privacy, but it's something they get value out of. installing anything WF related on your phone provides information to your employer that they have no business having access to. Not just files, communications and emails, but also GPS location.
Wait until they take away all the company issued laptops and you must provide your own "if" you log in from home. Look up WAVE for all the fun details.
For me it was pretty simple. If you don't give me a phone, you don't call me on my personal phone. During work hours, you can IM or Skype-call me. I understand some positions feel the need to be available at all hours, I would never put myself in one of these positions so I cannot relate.
I lost my work phone along with most people 1-2 years ago. I do not have any apps except SecurID. The only work calls I take are for 1:1s with my close work friends who are savvy enough to know we don't want the company recording us.
IMO, it's in our mutual interest to keep work and personal stuff separate.
If you need a device (tool) to do your job, the company should provided it. Period. If you allowed YOUR personal property to be used - that is on YOU for not using your brain cells.

@qqj+1gFUzi6C....is absolutely correct. They reserve the right to confiscate your phone even if there is a hint of a problem. That was a deal breaker. No way am I allowing that. My boss did the same.
You're just now seeing this? Company phones went away for many of us at least a year ago. IIRC, those in California (and maybe elsewhere) are sill eligible for company/corporate phones. Regulated users may still get them as well.
The amount of apps on your personal device that are worse than the Blackberry client should be your first concern. TikTok, FB, Instagram, etc... All tracking you way more and with far worse intentions. So sure, make a stand, but not out of so called "security"
CAREFUL with the BYOD program. I was in legal and most folks there declined it or were going to decline it. Once you sign on the dotted line for the BYOD program - you are giving them permission to your entire phone - eventhough they say they won't do anything with your private informatin. Yeah right...but they still have access to it at any given moment!!!!!
If you are external client-facing this is a blessing. I added a 3rd free line and ported my number over. I do all business on the phone but I own it and the number. Left the WF dumpster fire and took my talents to an awesome bank and all my COI's call me on the same number.

Couldn't have said it better. That's my experience exactly. Before I offered my services 24/7. Now it's 8/5. Company's choice, not mine. They didn't feel the other 18/2 were worth it, and who am I to disagree? No way in he-l byod is happening with my phone, though I would do it for a pc when virtual desktop becomes a thing just so I never have to deal with the cr-p "support" from the tech people ever again.
My corporate phone was taking away about 6 months ago. I said no to BYOD and love it! No more caring about all those emails. Plus I have a friend involved in lawsuit with big airline- airline able to demand all the text messages between the 2 friends for the past 5 years - even without them using their phone for work.

They took a lot of company owned devices away from people a year plus ago. Surprised you still have yours. If you do not use a ton of data, prepaid plans are a pretty good option. Not that expensive and no contracts but have to buy your own phone. I don’t care about iPhones that much so just get an older model.
It was the best thing that happened to me, wf taking the phone away. At first, I was upset, but with it gone I'm no longer having to always check mail. No way I'm going byod, been a year now and its great. When I log off, I log off.
Too bad so sad guess I'm not taking calls outside of hours I'm by the phone🤷🏼♀️ No way am I putting company info on my personal device. That's just asking for trouble.
I’m @jof and that (the subpoena issue) was the one that caused me to “nope” out of the agreement. Odds are extremely low that it would ever matter in my role but why take the chance? It’s my personal property.
I’m not @jof, but many reasons. Here’s one of the lesser known ones than an old boss warned me about years ago: If you end up involved in a legal matter in some way related to your work at Wells, your phone could be subpoenaed.

No. And if you actually read the BYOD agreement, there is no way you will want to sign it.
