Thread regarding IBM layoffs

As somebody who is over 50, I can confirm this is 100% true

Wait till they realize how addictive and dangerous adderall and put some stricter access in place and they won't even get out of bed. Anyone born after 1982 you can just lump into one Generation Rx

This is horsehockey.

Of course if it were real, this would be a good reason for companies to get rid of 50+ folks.

But it isn't real.

Working for this company you end up still working most nights when you should be eating dinner or spending time with the family.
Sleeping? Not a chance, too many pageouts.

I am 56 and I am in the gym at night. I refuse to give up.

Maybe true for you. I was still putting in overtime right up to my retirement. Covering work not performed by people like you , I assume.

Personally, I think you are wrong about the older group. Those of us with >30 years are jumping with joy on Friday and those age 50+ have NO PROBLEM keeping up with this company.

Of course.....most of us in that category (including me with >38 years at IBM and under 60) are breaking free via RETIREMENT!! I selected May 31 2022 as a retirement date early last year and now find so so many joining me out the door that day!

I'm sorry if this is against the rules but it made me laugh and I thought we all needed some levity.
