Of course if it were real, this would be a good reason for companies to get rid of 50+ folks.
But it isn't real.
Working for this company you end up still working most nights when you should be eating dinner or spending time with the family.
Sleeping? Not a chance, too many pageouts.

Maybe true for you. I was still putting in overtime right up to my retirement. Covering work not performed by people like you , I assume.
Personally, I think you are wrong about the older group. Those of us with >30 years are jumping with joy on Friday and those age 50+ have NO PROBLEM keeping up with this company.
Of course.....most of us in that category (including me with >38 years at IBM and under 60) are breaking free via RETIREMENT!! I selected May 31 2022 as a retirement date early last year and now find so so many joining me out the door that day!
