Farley’s Top Accomplishments at Ford

What are they?

I first met him just after he joined as VP Marketing. I’ve been amazed that he actually finagled his way to the CEO job. I cannot think of a single thing other than that feat that he has accomplished, certainly nothing that benefits Ford.

@6xgy+1gHMMUJL Hackett was the most unqualified CEO hire in the history of the automotive industry. It was seriously insulting to hire a furniture company CEO and try to tout him as some kind of visionary.

I agree that Farley is better than Hackett, but that's hardly a ringing endorsement. Both were poor choices to lead the company.

Farley played the Ford political game and leveraged the PR department to buffer his image. I've never seen anyone create their own legend in the media the way Farley has. The whole "car guy" act was manufactured out of thin air. The book "American Icon" was written with inside access into the company when Farley was VP of Marketing. There isn't one mention of him being a car fanatic or motorsports enthusiast...just a run of the mill automotive exec who had some success at Toyota. Ask anyone who was around him back then and they'll tell you his whole racing schtick is a joke. But over the years he played up his imaged and worked the entire Ford family to position himself as some kind of heir to the throne. I swear if I hear one more mention about his grandfather I'm going to vomit. The guy is as phony as they come.

Well, he's better than Hackett. He seems to have a record of taking a new role, doing well for a year or two, then being promoted. What he leaves behind does not continue to do well. Hopefully Ford CEO is not just another stepping stone.

Jim Farley’s accomplishments? NONE

If Farley or corporate HR reads this… just know that Farleys first level reports think he’s incompetent. Every one of them just nods and keeps drinking the company kool aid.

If Ford doesn’t wake up soon they will be like Sears and IBM

Farley's only accomplishment is his nose print in Botox Bill's dingleberries.

so, when you really do something please let us know? Maybe you can turn the money pit of a train station into a moneymaker. Now that would be an accomplishment.

Because the CEO is just Billy’s flavor of the month and soon a new flavor will be CEO. The only CEO in my decades at Ford that was respected was Mulally. The previous poster must be very young and naive. That’s ok we were all once young, naive and full of ourselves. Only to be later embarrassed by our younger selves behaviors and judgement.

If you work and put food on the plate because of this company and have questions about the CEO , why haven’t you moved to Tesla or Apple. Because you are not worthy of getting hired elsewhere. Get ready to be cut. Let this company go forward without slackers like you.
