Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

When Exxon will understand??

My group is forced to come to the office every day. You can’t work from home even 1 day a week and flex hrs is a joke. Managers do watch and say something if you are not in the office early.

Then they don’t understand why people leave???

All those polices are created just to tell people when we interview but reality is different

If you where not hired as home based, get yourself back on campus. Stop whining or look for a better opportunity.

If you work in the O&G industry and you think you can work from home then you have a problem and need to change careers. People like you are the biggest problem at this company. You expect everything without doing any meaningful work.

Interestingly enough, I took a last minute vacation day, and around 11 AM, my manager texted my phone to see if I was doing ok. I had my admin assistant put vacation on my door that morning, but didn’t put vacation on my Skype, email, or calendar. AND…they were working from home. Obviously, he saw on my Skype that I hadn’t been online. Don’t be fooled, they are watching.

Does anyone think we will ever get remote options for each job in HQ?

I'm more productive at home and the collaboration excuse is a joke. Most of the people I work with aren't even on campus. If forced to do 5 days a week again, I'll start aggressively looking for another job. Not sure how we did this pre-pandemic.

Like the old saying goes " Them speak with forked tongue" and the ones with the forked tongue are being bred and groomed at the O&A chemical plant in Beaumont. So, if you hear that they were a manager at this sight look to see if they have snake eyes. the eyes don't lie.

Call them out on it?
“Yes, I was working from home. Have my support been poor???….because I feel like I accomplished more than I would have at the office.”

“Yes, I was working from home. It is part of the policy, yes?”

“Yes, I was working from home. I am embracing cultural change, and setting an example for others to do the same.”

Make it sweet and friendly….maybe even a little too sweet. They will feel like the id--t.
