Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Global virtual sales safe?

What is the comp and attrition like for global virtual sales (GVS) sales leaders? Glassdoor, Repvue, etc. are outdated on this info, which makes me nervous about the longevity of this type of role (and I guess why I am posting on a layoffs board). How often do layoffs happen in global virtual sales?

Virtual sales is a lower cost model and is therfore seen as better value. Most of the VSAMs are being poached for other sales roles inside Cisco so demand for new talent has never been higher. No layoffs expected here

I have not seen many VSAM’s being laid off. In general the mid market is growing in many countries and also remember that these sellers are not as expensive as the field AM’s . On the other hand overlays like sales specialists both in virtual and field are much more in risk of lay offs in general as they are a “nice to have but not need to have”. But i agree that for senior positions Infernal candidates may not be taken into consideration due to lack of experience

Global virtual sales covers the lowest end accounts. This is a prime target for layoffs. GVS and GVE are not even considered good candidates for internal role transfers.
