Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

It's Coming?

We're being told to watch expenses very carefully. Train rides to customers, hotel expenses etc are being closely scrutinised. I think there are going to be big layoffs soon, perhaps after FY end, because Cisco will start to see a cash flow problem due to lead times. This is great for me in my late-fifties and I'll be asking to be LR'd so I can retire early. I think the queue for requests for LR will be huge since there are many my age who want out of all this BS.

You didn’t know that when you wrote it. The leadership checkin hadn’t happened, nor had the all hands. But after Q4, I think we’re in for a brutal down sizing.

Layoffs happen every August at Cisco. About 5-6k people. Has happened that way every year for at least the last 7 years. They just rotate which teams.

If you were in a big layoff last year, your tram probably gets small careful cuts this year then another big layoff next year.

It's disgusting, a waste of resources, and poor management. But its just how Cisco does business.

Some say the end is near
Some say we'll see Armageddon soon
I certainly hope we will
I sure could use a vacation from this
