Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Offshore IT Support - Send stackoverflow links I've already worked through

Here's Offshore IT support methodology

  1. US Employee has technical issue and scours the Internet for help and related articles.
  2. US Employee works through these articles throwing mud at the wall hoping something sticks. Most mud coming from stackoverflow
  3. In a fit of frustration US Employee opens Jira ticket to nameless/faceless Offshore IT product support
  4. Jira ticket received offshore
  5. Offshore support take asks for screenshot of the error (so they can google it)
  6. Offshore support updated Jira ticket with results from step #1

Welcome to Wells Fargo folks!!!!

This is us …not in tech but with offshore “partners”. It’s a circus for sure. Highly inefficient. No responses. They say things were done but they weren’t. It’s sad.

  1. US Employee sees a technical issue, and knows how to resolve it because they've done it before and it's been their job for years.
  2. US Employee no longer has permissions to do their job, so must create a ticket to India.
  3. India never fixes the issue.
  4. US Employee gives up and stops trying after several cycles of this.
  5. US Employee starts spending time formerly dedicated to troubleshooting on thelayoff.com.
