For a few months, just so that people could realize that it's all the same, big shitshow when it comes to employees. You won't be treated better at Chevron, or Shell, or BP, or whichever other major O&G company you are thinking of joining. If you want to be treated better, you need to leave the industry. End of story.

Shell has 9/80s, which is pretty objectively better than Exxon.
It true about CVX and Shell. At least they tell you that layoffs are coming and not the fake cr@p of NSI or PIP to avoid to severance.
This is utterly false. I have friends that have worked for EM then moved to Shell, CVX, COP and they say that they are far less of a sh!t show than EM
At least Shell, BP and Chevron call layoffs what they are and give real severance packages.
