Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Jim’s podcast will NOT be a distraction but enhance his show biz opportunities

The Ford CEO is launching a podcast on Spotify called "Drive" that will feature him talking about cars with personalities from the automotive industry and celebrities like Jimmy Kimmel and Tom Brady.

"Having these conversations helps me recharge my batteries and connect with my love for cars outside of business.

Maybe having honest and constructive conversations with your employees about getting back to the basics vs being a celebrity CEO would help the business and the country (at the expense of st-----g your EGO)

JF was a media hound since he appeared on 60 minutes while at Toyota. Perhaps he feels the need to hold up the family's show biz legacy. Let the minions worry about things like making Bronco engines that don't grenade or getting chips for vehicles built without them.

Nice gig, but not what you were hired to do.

Jim Hacket was tied for worst CEO with Jaques Nassar.

Now Jim Farley has taken that position from both of them. All you get from him is overpaid lip service. Truly a first class bafoon.

Farley sent a press release on this to Phoebe at the Detroit Free Ford Press, and she published it as if it were newsworthy that Farley spent Saturdays working on his podcast. He should have been spending seven days a week figuring out why Ford vehicles are recalled more than others, we can’t make door locks that work, and our market share and revenue have been falling since he has been CEO. Unbelievable fawning.

Stock hit a 52 week law today on this news.

Shareholders don’t seem excited by this news. But then, the Ford family holds the only shares that matter, and we know they don’t have two brain cells to put together.

Our vehicles are spontaneously catching on fire, and our CEO is announcing his new podcast. He wants to be Elon Musk and cousin Chris, and he isn’t the shadow of either. Very sad future for Ford.

Over/under on how many times Grandpa Farley is mentioned in the podcasts?

What a complete joke. The guy spends his entire day on Twitter reading his own press clippings. Now he's recording a low rent version of Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee? He is so insanely jealous of Elon's fame and will do anything to get attention. What's next? Is Jim going to try and buy MySpace?

Will it be as obvious as usual that he is awkwardly reading a teleprompter?

Our CEO should be trying to solve things like the chip shortage. Instead, he is hobnobbing with celebrities and recording podcast episodes. Glad he is earning that $30 million per year in compensation.
