Until our Corporate Tax structure changes in the USA to only provide tax breaks for RND an staffing needs in the USA only then things will change for the better for employees

@1qta+1gOpTeWR Again, this is not a US worker vs India worker thing. It’s not a red vs blue thing. It’s not a smart vs d-mb thing. It is a rich vs the rest of us thing.

Who do you think benefits from lower cost labor? The imperialist class have spent a lot of time convincing you that it is you! Stuff is cheap so you can buy more - right up until your wage is so withered you’re buying only basics and scraping by with that.

This is only about corporate profits that lead to executive pay packages. To think otherwise is fooling yourself into obsolescence.

TI is undergoing a lot of reorg as part of the new "products" model.

Has anyone heard of a tech reorg in TI/Hybrid coming next month?

@1ils, oh, if you only knew how they talk about us, Americans. They actually say that they have to hire them, because they are smarter than any American. On the surface, they can appear nice. They aren't.

Individual companies don't give away jobs either, they do it to remain competitive in the market. If they don't, their competition does, and gains an advantage that often can't be overcome and they go out of business. It's why a lot of simple / cheap to mass produce items aren't made in the USA anymore. Some domestic manufacturers DID try to keep their businesses domestic...but when their widget was $10 and the competition had one on the shelf next to it for $5, yeah, they are going out of business. In the end, the market decided, not any one business. You do what you need to do to be competitive or you lose it all. That's not really a choice.

Exactly… i never understand the ‘stealing our jobs’. The problem is the ones at the top giving them away. The people ‘stealing jobs’ are just trying to feed their families by applying and getting jobs just like the rest of us.

I knew a team that got laid off. Excellent, excellent professionals who had lots of experience. The company just gets weaker when they do stuff like this. Management is so terrible at WF, they just continually destroy the company.

My manager and all reports but one were laid off today - not MTG. Some in Des Moines metro. Call was scheduled two days ago. We had one and a half hours before our system access was revoked.

They are all out as of about 2pm ET today (5/19).

More of whole teams being chopped is likely as they are being structured around "products". Eliminate the "product", just chop the whole team.

You're busy doing your job, completely unaware that behind the scenes another team is automating some functions you do. But instead of a slow transition to some automation and some new functions for your team, your team is just eliminated. What can't be automated is handled by a new team in India.

Surprise!

“ Does this mean they steal our jobs?”

No they don’t, they simply take what our leadership offers them

Were any of them remote who lived over 40 miles from an office or nowhere near one?

But i thought Indians were our friends and it was like 40% Indian 60% American. My manager told me to write and document everything so they can get up to speed quicker. Does this mean they steal our jobs?

Questions for those laid off today:

  1. Was there a “placeholder” meeting scheduled in advance of today? I heard it’s the new trend and then there’s a last minute change to the invite and attendees.
  2. Did you receive a 60 day notice period and is it working or nonworking? Just wondering if you are let go immediately?

Best wishes for your future!

I can confirm tech was affected.

Two teams in the security org were laid off today. One of them had almost 40 people laid off, just like that. The writing was on the wall, but still surprising that the entire team was cut all at once.

@zyb+1gOpTeWR Don’t talk about what you don’t know about. Does not matter if you are a manager or not. Yes people were laid off in mortgage closing today.

False, its real. I know several people on the list. No one is going to willingly give out that information that could be used to identify them, as most of these are showing as still active in the system. That is why there is no detailed information.

Americans should close their accounts at WF and look at the local credit unions or local banks. WF fees are pretty high too. Really no advantage to banking there.
