I don't really care either way, but why do some fear so much Fidelity is woke when it's not? They just do the standard diversity and inclusion stuff that big companies always do, and even that is done is pretty measured way.

Abby is full on woke. There are a lot of things she does well, but I think the wokeness might end up being the end of Fidelity.
I am seeing so many young people of the right shade of brown who are hopeless at actually soving a difficult problem. Yeah, back in the day Fido preferred young white men. But, guess what, they worked long hours and could solve a solution on a shoestring with an Access database, Excel, and some ingenuity.
Now, everything is an outsourced vended 'solution.' The young wokies aren't clever enough, nor do they care, nor are they motivated to solve difficult problems. They just want promotion and recognition for the simplest of tasks. "I solved that by calling a vendor and telling them what we needed. Aren't I great, where's my promotion?"
I have first hand experience here - Employees forced to use pronouns passive aggressively, otherwise very senior level executives make a comment saying oh “we dont know if is boy or girl because there are mo pronouns”…
Not to mention blog posts by their head of D&I that it pains her heart every once in a while a black guy is hurt by a non black guy, and no blog posts(doesn't pain her heart?) when black guy commits gang violence every day or trans shoots up a school…
Hiring is not on merit, simply by skin color or lgbtqabcdefgh identity.
The company is full of really smart people who I am sure disagree with this nonsense but not say anything out of fear, while sitting and watching their rights to freedom and speech are being stripped

My Fidelity rep works from home. I have to make a special request to meet him personally in Boston which he doesn’t like and doesn’t feel he should have to work in Boston. Will he retaliate if I ask to meet n Boston? I worked at Fidelity and was expected to be in the office. If you prefer one-on-one, personal attention managing your million, you might want to go elsewhere. Fidelity has changed and is woke.

I've worked for several companies and nothing compares to Fidelity's extremely passive agressive woke culture.
Really? HIghlighting and portraying 13% minority as the predominant majority in their ads? Like that's their major market? Yeah, right.
The only people who could consider Fidelity to be “woke” are clueless older straight white men… like the people who run the place.

Even internal messaging highlight words we shouldn’t be using that “could” be viewed as racism, s-xism and even age related. Surely that has gone too far
Really fidelity is not woke, Fidelity recently printed the LGBT rainbow masks and distributed them during Covid. They are officially participating in parades and sponsoring flags. They are inviting LGBTQ speakers. They are hiring selectively the people not on merit but on D & I ratio. They changed the health insurance policy in all locations to include gender change. It is the most woke firm there is, its not the standard stuff that companies do.
Getting Dad's inheritance can keep woke going a lot further into the future... recession or not than the average listed company that eventually has to answer to shareholders.
Those policies are fu----g re--rded.

Many people take things at face value instead of really thinking about them. Oh, a training and D & I being pushed super hard all of a sudden > Must be genuine > Happy.

Social movement and focus groups pushed her to to change years of hiring practices for the betterment of the company image and profits. That's all. She's no hero.
When I was directed to only hire women and minorities, I consider that woke. Abby's working hard to make up for her white privilege.
