White men have been feeling it ever since the H1B visa program was expanded under Bush. Have you not been paying attention?
Now that white men are feeling it, is it finally racist?
Of the hiring statistics, these could easily be misleading if they are counting offshoring as diversity hires, or non-white hires....
Of the most senior director level and above promotions or new hires Wells promoted or hired only 82% white . Of the remaining 18% that were non-white , most said they were essentially aiming for jobs that were three levels higher but were hired three levels lower where they deserved to be. But otherwise Wells is an equitable employee .

So if wells fargo is denying positions to white men. How is that not racist?

so they hired only 23% of white men in 2020, and 19% of white men in 2021
Yet white men are 31% of the American population..
The facts above speak for themselves.
My personal view is the NYT long ago was one of the best papers, now its used by political extremist for manipulation purposes. In this case they try and support a statement with facts that say just the opposite.
