Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

How long does it take to find a new job?

They say the job market is hot right now. I have made a definite decision to leave XOM, so some experiences and advice from people that already left to company or from people that know people that left might come in handy.
How long does it generally take to find a new job in the industry if I hit the job market hard?

Depends on your background and skills. Lots of jobs out there. The grass is always greener on the other side.

Any good tips for headhunter firms to connect with? Robert Half is one I have looked at, but they don’t have a super personal touch.

Everyone is different. Some are weeks, some are months, some are years.
Get a firm offer first, then leave..

Give yourself a good 2-3 months for the entire process if you’re good at interviews. Also be prepared to send out a lot of applications if a recruiter doesn’t hit you up first.

My friend who got wrongly PiPed in late 2020 found a job in 5 months. That was through the height of Omicron. The job market is better now and you will do fine because there’s opening everywhere.
