Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

We're not all equal in RTO

I've been noticing that managers' pets are not required to come to the office as much as the rest of us are (or at all in some cases). Am I just imagining things or has anybody else noticed this? If it's true, I'm going to be monumentally pi---d off. I thought RTO was implemented so we can all collaborate better, but apparently, some of us are capable of collaborating from home and others aren't?

After a year of medical accommodation, you can renew it for another year, and there’s no limit to how many times it can be renewed.

But, if you want to be approved for more than a year at a time then it’s through MyWork.

Maybe it is because the people you call pets are performing people and managers know they are dependable for delivering. On the other hand, it may be people like you who are hardly working from home or having 2 jobs. Coming to office puts a demper on that lifestyle

The bank really messed up with notification of RTO. Managers do not know who is returning and when. It’s always a surprise around here

Overt favoritism. It's everywhere, from work location, territory, choice of aligned support staff, future job promotions, recognition, raises, bonuses, visibility. If you're a favored employee, you can do pretty much whatever you want. They arrive at 10 AM, leave at 3 PM, and nary a word is said while you work overtime. You're assigned (literally) the slum areas, and the guy next to you has the equivalent of Beverly Hills - and yet both have same sales quotas. They coast, and you get crumbs. They abuse their corporate card to get drunk at the bar, and then they get a job promotion. They double dip and fudge their sales numbers, and you're honest and get grilled for ever the slightest decrease. Gadfly brings coffee to the manager's office every morning. Sleazy business, but that is what happens here. Learn to accept it, play the slimy game, or move on. Not a meritocracy.

Managers are not being notified of who is supposed to be RTO until that person gets a seat assignment. Even then there is no ongoing list for them to refer to, unless they create it offline, of who is and isn't "invited" back to the office.

This is all being run by HR with managers sometimes being the last to know. Yet at the same time managers are expected to enforce who is and isn't in the office even though HR doesn't tell them who is supposed to be there.

Not that I haven't seen rampant favoritism at BofA, we all know it is there, but in this case it's because the RTO process is about as clear as sewer water to everyone outside HR.

Why are the medical accommodations only for up to a years time max?

I don’t think all the uvaxed/non-reporters are all due back till June 1st, then medical accommodations should start running out. Mine does on July 1st.

If you are upset about that, then look over the fence at the AirBnb employees working from the beach or their lake house.

Some people who are friendly with manager just know they won't be fired. Their manager likes them and the bank can't fill positions at this time so Bank won't do anything either...

Some people may received medical accommodations to continue working from home. I know in my dept. there have been quite a few that have done that. The managers are not supposed to divulge that info to other employees so that could be why you see that some people still aren’t coming in
