Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Some try to get laid off

It’s amazing to me that there are more and more people willing to do anything to end up on the layoff list. Isn’t it easier to just find a new job and leave MNY Mellon on your own?

This is a joke question, right?

If you get "laid off", "severed", "separated", you receive the fabulous parting gifts. Gotta love the BNY euphemisms.

Salary and benefits, up to 52 weeks!

Dude, it's really a great package!

If you want to be the grammar police you might want to proofread your own work.

Projects? Why do we have so many projects requiring volunteers - MISMANAGEMENT

OP strikes me as a New Yorker that reports into a momo Floridian. These types have exasperated the problem - it's mostly VPs who retain their a-s-li---r mentality....5 more years until retirement ...will do anything "I got these cheeseburgers...."

These are the people who have always mailed it in, always took a step backwards when time to volunteer for cross division projects and in general shirked work. Hopefully management will be wise in assigning people to layoffs or termination with cause.

It’s so important to be careful not to reward slackers with a nice package.
