How much to wait

Does anyone know how long you need to wait before you can be hired as a consultant after retiring?

Given that the timing to return to xom as a contractor impacts your retirement benefits, you should talk to your financial advisor or xom benefits before deciding. Obviously no one here is knowledgeable enough to tell you the actual amount of time required. Don’t use this forum for benefits interpretation or financial advice.

You know, there might be a tax deduction for the company hiring folks with Alzheimer's and dementia and stuff like that. Look into that.

I know we saved a bunch at a high-noise facility by hiring those that were already hearing impaired.

Immediately if going into different job in different group. 2 months if going into same job.

Unbelievable how rude you people are.

It’s a basic question. I hope when you retire you don’t face the same attitudes. But wait, some Exxon employees are not the most thick skinned - cold air con, a single broken toilet on the campus - and they are in tears. Perhaps those making these mean and rude comments should be the ones leaving the company.

Agreed. If you don't know the answer, we don't need your services, labor, slacking.
Contractors for the most part are ambitious in a good way.
Volunteer at your grandchilren's soccer games.

It would be like going back to an abusive relationship. If you can tolerate the disrespect and the betrayal, then go for it.

Believe it is 6 months, but if you left for any other reason than a non-PIP retirement, they don't want you back. Really.
Based on your lack of knowledge or even simple research skills on this topic, we won't be seeing you around. For sure.
