I also got a second job. On my lunch today I made two door dash deliveries for a whopping $11.50. I was going to go after work but stayed later than I should have so I’m going to try for more time tomorrow. I need dental work done and our dental insurance, like any, sucks and this is the only way I can make up bills and *try to make enough “extra” for my health.

I hit 40 hours this week by midday today. I’m a damn zombie. People quitting in our group every week, managers just expecting us to pick up the slack. Oh, and don’t forget mid year reviews are in 2 weeks!
I’m working on getting out of here but I can’t do my best in interviews working 70 hours a week!
Did they call an audible and huddle in conference rooms at the last minute after it became clear that no one was showing up in person to hear them talk? I also didn't see any video cuts to their viewing parties like they had promised.

no more $30 lunches for anyone. and for everyone who wants a pay bump when inflation is up, when it goes down are you also okay with a pay decrease? Just do what I did and get a second job.
The "adjust your expenses" thing regarding inflation was totally tone deaf. A market adjustment for lower income workers would probably be warranted IMO.
I'd wager all his buds that got brought in make some serious coin especially when some are in Zone 1 cities.
To talk the details of our cloud strategy. We will outsource the migration effort of most of our apps since definitely, that's cheaper. And when that's done, support goes to a vendor. I heard Tech is affected ugh oh.

That sure was a long way of saying "We see inflation is through the roof, we're going to hand wave about 'keeping a close eye on it', but rest assured we have zero intention of actually adjusting pay to match. You can take the hit! We do suggest your cut your personal budget though...but not on filling up your car to make a pointless commute to the office!"

Regarding concerns about getting raises to help offset inflation and cost of living…I think most of us are more concerned about just having a job!!!

This self-identification stuff is a bit strange to me. I'm all for diversity, I don't really need you to self identify if you're disabled, LGBTQ+, different religion, ethnicity etc. If it comes up in discussion, cool. I respect everybody no matter what.
