In software dev, we use agile methodology. A software developer could be doing dev work, QA work, systems analyst work and even PM work. In some companies, there could be a person in each of those roles, but here at Dell/EMC, one person could play all those roles at any given time as part of a sprint. When you look at the skillset required for each of those roles and salary your being paid, you can certainly feel like you are underpaid.

Anyone who’s kept their job for many years through rounds of layoffs and received well deserved promotions during that time IS doing the jobs of multiple people, if you look back a few years as a comparison. But not sure that’s unique anywhere else.

maybe in your job, don't speak for everyone.

Who is benefiting from this? All of Dell’s competitors are offering higher pay and better benefits, and likely not a job where you’re expected to do 5 peoples’ jobs.

senior levels don't get that, neither do principal level. You may see that on the west coast where the cost of living is much higher so salaries are higher. Maybe you find those salaries in a start up, but not Dell on the east coast. This is wishful thinking, I haven't heard this being the norm in other companies either. There may be some outliers, but not the norm. You'd have to prove that with links to posts showing those salaries.

This post is a joke.Dell may do well overall but its not reflected in salaries.Other companies paying much more with better benefits.

Dell is a dinosaur trying to stay relevant.

How much Senior Software Engineer with the highest seniority / pay grade level gets at Dell yearly ? I hope is at least $200K, maybe $250?

Agree with last poster. Don’t simply post something what amounts to little more than fear generating or conspiracy. What, exactly, is supposed to happen in June? What do you have unique knowledge into? What can or will happen less than one month after pretty good financial results? Please share with the group.

Can’t tell if you are being serious or not given the nature of this site. The financial results presented yesterday were impressive, with few warnings/concerns, in light of the economy and global situation. In all fairness, Dell Technologies is doing well in today’s complex market…..don’t you think?
