Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

When's the last time you were recognized for doing great work?

I'm tired of going above and beyond my job responsibilities and getting nothing in return. Why would I bother if the person who barely does anything gets the exact same treatment as I do? I think I'm the id--t here and those who waste most of their time are the smart ones.

I did for many years.... Now I can't find anyone who has a CLEAR definition of "great work".

I receive and am encouraged to send e-cards as recognition which is lame to say the least. Then there are the the reward points you can shop from a catalog that for some reason is mostly wrist watches?? Does anyone still wear a watch? My phone shows time. And pay tax on it to boot. So yeah receive no meaningful recognition.

I have rarely been rewarded for working hard. My job frequently requires long hours especially when dealing with teammates in Asia Pacific. I work my a$& off with no acknowledgement from my management or clients.

It’s discouraging. I should have tried to leave along time ago…

Doing great work now means getting more and more work with a mere thank you or high five recognition. Great work has become an expectation especially if they know you’re a hard worker.

Leadership/ management in this place is non existent. People with no management skills apply for management jobs and it’s handed to them and they can’t lead or manage if their life depended on it. Yet they want to know why people are jumping ship. This bank has become one of the worst places to work. Not surprised there’s no survey this year. They already know it would be pointless because they would hear the truth about what people really think about working there, a truth they don’t care to hear. Limiting the 3 to 7% raise to under 100k as if above 100k isn’t experiencing inflation. A once decent place to work has now become a pathetic employer that is out of touch with most people’s reality.

When your annual bonus gets stolen due to changes in incentive calculations, your job gets eliminated and handed to a younger worker half your age, and job promotions are non-existent, it's way past time to leave. When you start seeing people 10 years younger than yourself get promoted with zero experience, zero work ethic, and very weak (even non-existent) academic credentials, you know the game is rigged. (How exactly do you become an SVP or a Market Executive without a college degree?) Just don't wait too long in the clown world lobby expecting real change. Everyone needs a godfather.
