California 32 hour work week proposal =20% paycut?

State of California bill proposal wants employers with over 500 employees to change to 4 day, 8 hours per day work week for a 32 hour work week. Unionized employees are exempt (for now, anyways). A fifth workday would be considered overtime and paid at time and a half. Nowhere does it say you get 40 hours of pay for 32 hours, nor does it say 32 hours of pay for 32 hours of work. Oh, California, gotta love those people. Looking forward to your comments Californians.

Nobody in California works 40 hours. They may get paid for 40 hours but actually work 40 hours NOPE !

I got paid for many 50-80 hr. weeks while working at most 32. Generally 10 hrs.
But I did read a lot and buy lots of toys. Shopped on the phone while I was waiting for work. That or take a nap. But not my job to find work.
Cabins, ATVS, Boats, Trucks, Tractors, etc. Worked out well.
Nothing to do all day because the dispatchers and control folks don't pay attention until They want to go home and assign 4 hr old tickets.
OK, I'll go do it.
So I spend 2-3 hours that day working, get paid for 10 or 12.
Get some to go food and eat in the truck for another hour of double time.
Burned $80 in gas driving around to look busy.
Got 4 hours of Double time as I have 49 hours by Thursday.
And the boss who went home at 3PM just don't care.
He'll thank me for picking up the ticket.
Nothing will happen to the controler/dispatcher who sat on that ticket while we we're all napping at 1PM.
Perfect.

lots of bills are proposed, most don't make it out of committee. This won 't. Somebody trying to get their name in the news. Election year.

This will be the nail in the coffin for the CA. No business will stay. Absolute joke if you think your world leading economy will still be a leader only working 32 hrs a week. To be honest, this probably will be no change for CA folks since they are already working 32 hrs .
