Millennials can’t even relate to pensions and concessions nor can Gen X and Y. They’re much more resilient, flexible and demanding regarding what they want from an employer, which is why they change employers frequently. Whatever you ‘think’ you worked to put into place regarding benefits…will not apply to later generations so get over yourself.

Gonna be alot of millennials livin on the street in their retirement years! They place no importance on benefits their parents fought hard for. Nothing wrong with negotiating for the best return for your talent and time. Employees of T would be making peanuts if it were not for strong employees and the union. Today's wages at T are a benefit from sacrifices made by those employees who came before us. All the excellent benefits were also passed down, generation to generation, until Stankey and Santone came along and gutted most all benefits.

On what planet should you expect ‘free stuff’ for life! LD, pagers, phone services and features….even life insurance?!? Corporations frequently make changes to benefits like awarding employees grandfathers clocks upon retirement! Ask a millennial if that’s a ‘benefit’ they’d covet in retirement!
Be grateful you’re still breathing and try to enjoy your retirement…Nothing is promised to anyone…including tomorrow!

Moved all my services the first month after retirement. Hope the entire place goes belly up.

Yeah. I had a boss that did everything he could to look good for upper level mgt like I'd get a telephone call begging for my expertise every saturday night at say 2:00am. I'd make a long distance call and talk that group thru restoration then give my LD telephone bill to my boss for repayment. That jerk would always find a reason not to submit like he's not wasting a 4th levels time to sign the voucher or I should have used SWETN LD network (didn't have the password as he didn't trust us) etc. Once the LD bill came to $24 and he told me that he thought I could afford that with what I made. I could but the point is that was a cost that I was owed for helping another district in trouble. I didn't ask for time off or OT payment. I was glad to help. I could have just not answered my phone but trying to be company minded and help when needed was almost impossible. Decided everytime he cheated me, I'd take something. I've now got a collection of tools, bu-t ins, toners, a laptop, few VM's, a O scope, freq. analyzer and a lot of things that I've decided to reimburse myself for his cheating me. Yes - could be considered employee theft, Yes - I consider it self repayment.

Before retirement, I was promised a free LL, free cell service, free Uverse, free internet, free pager (yeah I know), free LD for life. I was required because of my job to have most all of these so that I could be found - therefore these followed me around 24/7.
I retire after setting up concession and start getting outrageous bills. When I call they quote me this secret pricing structure which was not what was not what is listed on my 28 year old job offer that I kept with my $250K retiree life insurance policy in a safe deposit box. Just cancelled all my services and signed up with the competition. Better service, better support, better companies and best pricing structure.
Loyalty? No. Honesty? No. Integrity? No. So be it.
