don't give a damn about free cafeteria-grade food. Give me more stock that actually has a good chance to grow so I can buy the food I want.

You and me can afford buying our own lunches. I don't want to cook at home and bring meals to office nor do I have or want to spend time to go out for lunch every day. So yes, I want cafeteria-grade food ... and I want to for free. IMHO, free food shows appreciation for employees.

"metrics engineers care: free food"

So classy - not! I don't give a damn about free cafeteria-grade food. Give me more stock that actually has a good chance to grow so I can buy the food I want.

Over the coming weeks, you will hear more about the following:

1 Our Q1 focal to address salary and promotion opportunities
2 Our plan to shift a percentage of bonus into your base pay to give you more cash up front
3 Ongoing plans for Connected Recognition

In Q1, there were always salary increases and promotions. What will be new here?

Shifting a percentage from bonus into base pay has only secondary effects such as a slightly higher 401k match. I have not done the math, I doubt I will get much out of this.

Ongoing plans for Connected Recognition? Maybe we will be able to give higher amounts to peers? That may results in a few more dollars. Whatever the plan is, I doubt I will get much out of it, either.

Fran, make Cisco great again! Increase our salaries by 30% and implement all of Google's benefits. This will also attract top engineers, again.

We are not the #1 place to work by metrics engineers care:

  • free food
  • no layoffs
  • treated as a human being not as resources
  • benefits (talk to your friends from FB, Amazon, Google etc, actually, talk to your friends from random companies and see what their companies offer)
  • stocks that actually grew upon vesting
  • salary
  • working on innovative projects

It's not really diversity when it's mostly Indians.

So many bitter white people complaining about diversity. Losing your grip hurts. Meh…

It's funny, this ranking does not have any FAANG companies even in the top 50, which everyone one wants to join. (Including the ex -SVPs from Cisco have joined Faang!)

Guess, the reader has to take these list with sense of border view and not blindly fall for the ranking.

its not best place to work, its a diversity score... listen to then describe how the rankings are done.

Same as the 81M who voted for Biden... IF you want to be a diversity hire, and if you poll diversity hires, then sure Cisco is #1. But once you get a diversity manager who is completely incompetent, then you're doomed. (Except to help them get promoted... like a dilbert cartoon) Promote the incompetent on the basis of ethnic background.

Cisco is also a leader in security. These are paid for articles and rankings.
