Many are dedicated to their careers. They want to get promoted, they want raise. They try in various ways to achieve that and then in the end.. they are cut because they have become too expensive.
Isn't that the biggest irony?
This system only demotivates employees to work hard and progress. Only mediocrity has become acceptable, unfortunately.

The man in charge of Downstream / Midstream Projects is an excellent example of this. But he looks good in a suit.
If you have formal education then you are more expensive and a threat to your uneducated Manager. Best path, high school degree, bend over and become a Manager, Director, VP, SVP, EVP. How many uneducated leaders do we have?
