I've been using this site for several years and I don't remember any subject that produced as many posts as RTO. I think this is an excellent indicator of how much this issue means to people and that it's something we're not ready to just let go of or forget. Hopefully, the upper management comes to realize this as well.

well the problem is i was hired as a remote employee and these sons of bi----s voided it without even mentioning it to me. they were instructed to apologize or anything. so yeah, people sitting in east jeep need to drive 39 miles or if your over 40 being forced to stay in your role with limited promotion options.
RTO may not be losing steam but WF doesn’t give a flipping rats a** about your views on RTO. You’ll ALL be made to go back in office by end of summer anyway because dinosaurs run the bank. BTW there’s lots of Fintechs and credit unions and other big banks hiring that are fully remote positions and pay more. Many of my friends have already quit and are very happy with their pay increase and able to stay WFO. If you value your work-life balance WF isn’t the place to be. Also WF can take that laughable 1.99% raise we got this year and shove it where the Sun don’t shine.
Dinosaurs want to be stuck in their corporate tar pits, but they can't help but want to drag us with them, telling us how great it'll be.
No thanks, sell crazy somewhere else.

We get to pick now. Not sure what you’re talking about. I’ll stick with Zero in office days though.
I propose 4 days in the office but we get to select what day we wish to stay home. What say you all?

Wrong guy.
You want @olc+1gej2i4E
Give few examples (other than a branch location) of departments where those 70% employees work and productivity suffers unless everyone is physically together.
@olc+1gej2i4E
I would be real interested in knowing what department this is. I have high doubts.

If your business process require you to be face to face, you need new processes or we don’t need your department. There isn’t much that can’t be done remotely and that’s a fact. If you have issues with employees performance or issues with not utilizing the full suite of tools available in order to have your employees perform their best when WFH that’s a management issue and you need to flush those bad performers out and hire - meaning pay well - new employees that are able to work from home and perform.

Thanks for your attempted fix but the team I work on needs to be with the business most of the time and in person makes sense to the point where we've suffered as a result of WFH. If you're in a job where it makes sense to work remote, good luck to you but all the numbers I've seen suggest that's around 30% of total staff. I still say that this forum is not changing anyones mind.
Nor should it let up. As long as it's a problem, and it is a problem, it should be voiced.
Going back in time is the opposite of progress.
The world has changed. Wells needs to change with it.
The world has changed. The executive team is using Mgmt all the way down to get people back bc of the huge costs of servicing buildings, leases, etc. This isn’t the avg employees problem. The avg employee has juggled Covid and worklife by changing their routine and mindset for 2+ years. Mgmt should realize that you can’t just dictate that people flip a switch right back…it’s psychological, people get used to routines. The building issue is not the employees problem. For 50% of people, work life balance got better.
Why would they think it would be easy to convince avg employees otherwise? It then becomes apparent that Mgmt doesn’t respect or appreciate anyone. It’s about bottom line. And for that reason, people must fight for better lives. We’ve all learned and been told that we must do what is best for our family and it’s a case by case situation. Give employees the freedom to choose.
When less than 10% of the company roles/positions don’t have that option. *
I fixed that for you. Nearly all positions except maybe branch employees or people who need special equipment for their jobs. But both of those types of jobs are being heavily decreased in the next few years. Outside of those people, basically anyone can do everything remotely.
It's become pretty tedious IMO. Just regurgitating the same old justifications for WFH when 2/3 of the company doesn't have that option. I doubt we're changing anyones mind - anyone who matters at least. Such is life.
