Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

I don’t make enough to keep this job.

I’m very curious what the plan is for those of us making just over the new starting rate with over a decade at the bank. There are plenty of us that have only made lateral moves and been screwed out of increases some years, and we are not bonus eligible. So I’m curious how this is going to work. I asked my manager a few years back when they announced it and their answer was…”well then you’ll be making at least 25.” I also have attempted to look at the financial health benefits they offer, I don’t need savings advice. I need to be able to afford to live on one income.

The pay scale is considerably higher indeed at other companies. They actually value talented folks with experience and credentials. It’s an optimal time to explore opportunities in the marketplace!

I used to work so hard because I wanted to be a gold star employee. It has been over a decade and I barely make more than minimum wage too. They would be amazed at the money they would save if they paid me what I'm worth but I'm cool with doing the bare minimum to match my pay and doing little to prevent losses. I suspect they're going to give us a very small pay increase to justify going to the office all the time and then brag about it for months to the media.

You have ten years experience. Find a job elsewhere. If the bank doesn’t value you enough then find someone who does value you for all you do. There are plenty of other fish in the sea. Don’t wait on them. We have waited long enough for other things you see on this board. Their new higher management are making things worse not better. So use that experience to get off the ship before it sinks.
