Thread regarding IBM layoffs

Deluded management

“As I have highlighted in 2021 and more recently x, it is critical that all our staff contribute to utilisation. You are receiving this email as your billable utilisation target is % and you are falling short of that target both QTD and YTD. Your market, X and IBM needs you to deliver at this level so we can make our profit objectives. I do not need a reply to this email with reasons why this is not achievable, but I expect you to improve your billable utilisation this quarter which will be visible in your QTD results.”

Why aren't they threatening the SELLERS for not being successful in selling your services?

Rank and yank, classic method of consultancies. I'm starting to think that this originally came from the mafia, and Jack Neutron just put on it a better marketing spiel.

I’ve seen this happen too many times. That place is ran by middle age men with serious issues!

Simply update your CV, go and take your experience and the network that you’ve built with customers elsewhere.

That email says, “you’re not making me money, this means that I can’t get my big fat pay cheque and bonus. Plus, I don’t care if you work to death.”

I have extensive management experience, (decades), and I can tell you this is NOT how you work with your employees. This was an appalling letter, essentially saying, "Just do it, and don't tell me why you cannot."

There is no "we're in this together," "I'd be interested in your feedback. etc" How is this "leader" supposed to know what is wrong (or right), if he/she doesn't ask????

Again, assuming this is legit, if this person worked for me, I'd be having a serious conversation about how to motivate and help employees.

There are many ways to express your gratitude for a work well done. This is one way, few will use - except IBM. They deserve the fate they currently experience.

Can't wait to get that e-mail... my utilization is barely 10%... There is no work whatsoever... Complained to my management too many times already. I am in Expert Labs in the US.

The end is coming soon...

Update your resume instead and look for another job.
This is new ibm pip instead of layoff.
