Thread regarding T-Mobile layoffs

Red Flag Alert

Pay very close attention to the quality and caliber of senior management and leaders leaving recently.

These are people leaving who have contributed greatly to the success of the company and are generally admired by their teams. Why are they leaving? They are well compensated and comfortable in their roles. Answer - MS and DK have created a sh!tshow and are driving the business into the ground with their narcissism.

Pay attention to who is leaving. If leaders with your values are heading for the exit maybe it's time to jump ship also.

I’m a former exec that recently resigned due to my personal convictions on where things were going. Had a big following there because I prioritized PEOPLE and Servant Leadership.

It’s one thing to work for a company you aren’t aligned with… it’s another to try to lead huge teams in it. Taking people to a place you don’t personally want to go is a deep challenge. The conflict in your integrity/morals/convictions is heavy if you are a decent, people-focused leader.

Walked away from significant money, but I’m sleeping at night knowing it was the right decision.

I bet the VPs and directors sleep well tonight. They've still got jobs.

VPs we’re having a hard time justifying the lay offs in the call this morning . People were asking if the company is doing poorly financially and they had to say it is doing very well and there struggling to answer why and mainly hiding behind “driving efficiency” corp talk. Some employees called them out for evading answering and asked for straight answers. Our VP was on the verge of emotional breakdown talking about the sleepless night he had over the past few days !!

I would say the red flag would be the non-stop reorg/layoff and employees would rather be laid off then continue working here. Truly "best place to work".

Maybe next year the SLT can set the company performance to 250% and give themselves millions of compensation and have us applaud them again.

I heard your recruiter is headed over to WeWork. Those aren't the type of options that get you rich. LOL< good luck with that job, if it lasts.

My recruiter, who was the best I ever worked with and his manager just left. My former recruiter told me he received a 30K raise and will have half the workload he had at T-Mobile plus options that could make him rich some day. He also mentioned he was tired of the constant shuffling of positions and favoritism within the company as another reason he decided to leave. I'm sure he's going to be making a ton of calls over here the next couple of weeks.

Engineering reorg hit today at t-mo. This was fully expected to happen, I just thought it would be sooner.

What will hold back change is all the retail teams that believe they are under this impenetrable shield and they are untouchable. The reality is that the time is coming where these extra managers doing special projects or being stacked in a store will come to an end. The bottom performing MEs will be “coached” out and in a couple years MAX don’t be shocked if there’s one RSM for every 2-3 stores the way Verizon has done it for the last few years. For those that have left I applaud you all. 3 years ago I would have thought leaving would be the worst choice but this isn’t the same company and all this talk of “one company” actually further divides us because we all know/feel/see that sprint leaders aren’t anything that T-Mobile would have accepted pre merger. Good luck to all of us staying we’re going to need it sadly.

I declare a hedge of protection around T-Mobile, Mike Sievert and Deeanne King in The Name of Jesus!. No we@pon formed against them shall prosper!

Well, with all the Legacy Sprint crowd now having taken over the running of most of the business, all the talented T-Mobile folks are heading for the door. Besides, Seattle/Bellevue area is becoming a horrible place to live, what with crime, large homeless encampments, rising taxes, etc., and T-Mobile's inflexibility about working from home, there's plenty of companies hiring and paying better.
