I understand how any supply chain can be affected but this burns me up. I had fiber installed recently. Being an outside tech myself, the installer mentioned that he didn't have enough drop clamps for the job but will improvise. I didn't think nothing of it until a wind storm loosened up my drop at the cable and strand. Also they have to get another tech out there with a bucket to access a PFP box that doesn't have a seat.
My garage has a ton of drop clamps to possibly spread around. And I don't know why the installers manager can't put in a ticket to get a seat installed? Money being wasted constantly because I'm sure another tech will have to come out and fix the sloping drop weeks after the initial install. But lets keep on surplusing techs and restructering to save money. I'm not looking for sarcastic responses. I'm curious to know other internal issues? 2.5 yrs to go and I can't wait!

I prefer to install poly-flexible closures. It’s black and comes on a big roll. You can get dozens of closures per roll…or you can go green and save the environment by not using a closure and just let it bask in the sunshine el naturale.
Techs here are allowed to order 2 peds or two aerial closures a week. Any more than that is denied up the ladder. It’s the company’s job to make sure I have available at my fingertips what I need to complete my job. Lack of supplies doesn’t affect my paycheck.
Not to mention the most likely recession the country is headed into! Couldn't be a worse time to retire than now!
Yes make sure you retire early and lose 2.5 yrs pay, good insurance, pension and 401k contributions, especially with all this inflation.
Don't wait 2.5 years, check your finances, run the numbers against a couple financial planners it might surprise you. Minor life adjustments can be made.. I left last year after 26 years rule 75 it was the best decision I made. Install tech is full of cr-p, just lazy. P clamps are on upfront and it his job to keep them ordered for his truck. We have been short several things, mainly CPE, but P clamps is not 1. Tech probably could have easily gotten some from another nearby tech if he actually cared.
got rid of att fiber a long time ago. speeds went down drastically after about a year and a half wasn't going pay fiber prices for speeds not much above 100meg.
company said speed is not guaranteed and I said see you later now getting service that is guaranteed and every time i check it is always the same speed and is faster than what I was getting with fiber.
and att wonders why their stock is so low. being run by car salesman takes it toll after a while.

Any tech that fudges any outside plant is setting themselves up for big trouble.
"Make it work", "Improvise". Bad idea.
Let that drop fall and someone clothes lines themselves or trips and guess who is in trouble?

If you don't have the proper hardware, jep the job, EMAIL the boss and tell them why.
Not my job to seek out supplies if not at my garage.
